RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SAFE INSTALLATION OF YOUR STEM:
If you are purchasing a Prophecy BMX carbon stem and are unfamiliar with carbon products or you do not have the proper tools to assemble it, it is recommended to contact your local dealer.
To assemble our pro race carbon stem, you will need:
  • With a 31.8 mm diameter handlebar
  • Apply a thin layer of carbon assembly paste to the clamping part of the stem as well as to the handlebar part.
  • Place the stem faceplate over the visible clamp area on the handlebar and begin tightening your stem faceplate bolts diagonally
  • Adjust the angle of your handlebars before finishing by fully tightening the stem faceplate
  • A torque wrench to tighten the stem faceplate. We recommend applying between 8 and 15Nm maximum or the maximum tightening torque recommended by the handlebar manufacturer
  • To ensure that all bolts are fully tightened to the same torque
  • Check that the stem faceplate is parallel to the stem body to ensure that the tightening pressure is the same on each stem faceplate screw
  • Head tube: Need to hold the opposite side with an Allen key, then tighten firmly, plus a quarter turn with a tightening torque between 4 and 8 Nm maximum

THIS IS A ONE PIECE CARBON STEM DESIGNED FOR BMX TRACK RACING “RACE” ONLY, NOT FOR RAMPS OR FREESTYLE, DIRT JUMPING OR FIELDS BOSSES.
ANY ATTEMPT TO MODIFY THIS STEM MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DEATH.
DEATH. TO ENSURE SAFETY AND PROPER USE, THIS STEM MUST BE INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED BICYCLE MECHANIC AND REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL CARE:
  • VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE ENTIRE CARBON SURFACE BEFORE AND AFTER EACH USE
  • THERE MUST BE NO TRACE OF FRAYING, NOTCHING, CUTS, CRACKS OR EVEN WEAR ON THE CARBON PARTS
  • THE USE OF SPECIFIC ASSEMBLY PASTE FOR THE ASSEMBLY OF CARBON ELEMENTS WITH ANY OTHER ALLOY HELPS TO CREATE ADDITIONAL ADHESION BETWEEN THE TWO SLIDING SURFACES: “PARK TOOL SAC-2 SUPERGRIP CARBON AND ALLOY COMPOUND” IS AN EXAMPLE OF A PRODUCT OF THIS TYPE AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET
  • NEVER EXCEED THE TIGHTENING TORQUE RECOMMENDATIONS INDICATED
    ON OUR STEM
 
WEIGHT LIMITS:
For our 1-1/8” stems and 31.8mm handlebars the rider weight limit is 109kg (240lbs)

We don’t want to show our competitors all the details about our tests, but all our tests are much more comprehensive and destructive than any existing ISO tests and anything our competitors do on the market.
